Assistive technology and digital solutions are becoming increasingly important in elderly care and the healthcare sector. At the Health & Rehab fair, visitors can get up close with these technologies.
According to Morten Rasmussen, CEO of Danish.Care, political interest in assistive technology is greater than ever. The 2024 healthcare reform allocated two billion Danish kroner to digital solutions, and 96 per cent of Danish municipalities view technology as a solution to workforce shortages.
However, challenges remain.
"There is a lack of knowledge, insight and overview of the many new solutions."
-- Morten Rasmussen, CEO of Danish.Care
A population survey by the Danish Age Association showed that 87 per cent of respondents have concerns about assistive technology, particularly regarding the risk of isolation among the elderly.
An evaluation from seven Danish free-municipality trials indicated positive results with increased sense of security, but also raised ethical questions that need to be addressed responsibly.
The Health & Rehab fair takes place 4--6 March 2025 at Bella Center Copenhagen with free admission and approximately 160 exhibitors.
